Dental implants consists of 3 parts: the titanium post that acts like the “root” of the tooth, the connector post that bridges the implant to the crown, and the crown that sits on top. The simplest treatment is broken into 2 phases; phase 1 is the insertion of the implant into jawbone, and phase 2 comes after healing and it is the attachment of the connector post and crown onto the implant.

For the Implant treatment to succeed, plenty of strong bone is needed for implant to be placed in. Sometimes a patient may need to have a bone graft to compensate for weaker and less bone.
